Our beautiful truck was hit by an anonymous driver! We took a chance and went with a shop with haven't used before and we were pleasantly surprised. Introduction went great, communications through emails timely, they even communicated with Enterprise to help extend our agreement to accommodate a little more work that was needed, with an email & call to let us know. We are all busy, we really appreciated the extra step. Our truck was returned as if we purchased it for the first time. Well the story continues, a deer smashed into our other vehicle so we will be returning! So happy we have a reliable place to work with. If you are looking around, definitely make the appointment .

We took our truck there to get a transmission replaced, it took them a month to put it in. They did not communicate with us at all! We had to call every other day from them to tell us they still haven't gotten to it but it would be done by the weekend. 4 weekends later. It's done. we get there to pick it up, it drive good BUT now there is a rattle when driving. We take it back and two weeks later it's done again. We go pick it up and the hood latch is broken and our expensive headlights were switched out!! Not to mention we now have an exhaust leek that we have to take somewhere else to get fixed because they are crooks!!
Just do not have any mechanical work on your car done at this place or you will get lied to and ripped off !!!
Nostra Castello (my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan) is back home with a new transmission AND coolant thermostat - she goes backwards now! Praise be to Pro-Tech Autoworks for their excellent work! I loved working with them and they did an amazing job in record time for a great price! I drove her about 20 miles after the work was done and no check engine lights have returned! I cannot even put into words how EXCITED I am to have her as my daily driver again. Thank you!!! See less
"CONSUMERS BEWARE" *BBB F RATING I can not even stress enough the regrets we have bringing our vehicle to this shop. I wish I would have taken a closer look at this auto repair business and checked the BBB site first. They did the same thing with my insurance. They got paid for work that was never contracted or performed! Outrageous to say the least. Still waiting for the refund of monies they obtained from my insurance!!
Mark Kiser sells piece of shit cars that he gets from the auction 4 to $500 cars & sells them $5000 without servicing them nothing I've had a car for 6 months water pump fell out first week $600 job head gasket months later $2000 job you see the problem? Can't afford that shit it's bs. should have taken my money somewhere else now stuck in a shitty car loan tho.
I have taken my car to these guys a few times now and have been really impressed. They are very knowledgable and helpful with answering questions. They've also been great about getting repairs done in a timely manner. Appreciate you guys!
I have used Pro-Tech for repairs on both of my vehicles now, and these guys are knowledgeable, accurate, and fair. They normally come in under quote for final costs, and the one time it was over cost was only $84 ... no big deal. I recommend this shop to all of my friends, family, and business associates when the topic of auto repair comes up.
My car fobs didnt work, and I couldn't drive my car. I was stuck, Monday morning and no wheels. ProTech Auto Works showed up, friendly and non judgmental. I appreciated their positive attitude and professional service...and I'll be calling the company again if and/or when I have a dead car or other security problems with my car. That whole fix was painless and reasonably priced...
If i could give less star rating i would. My car was left there on 9/7/2022. Fast forward 7 months later and my car hasn't been fixed for what i took it in there for, a transmission. They took the insurance money (over $4500) got the transmission fronted to them by Infiniti, didn't pay Infiniti, and tried to sweep it under the rug...by doing nothing. It's known my car is at Infiniti (old transmition is God knows where) and Infiniti wants the money paid, my insurance money. The owner + people that work there will lie to your face. Which i actually have a 10-minute video of. Worst part of it all the owner (Joe) has stated he dodges my phone calls on purpose and avoids the situation because his business cant pay for my stolen insurance money. Unfortunately to get my car Pro Tech has to fork out the money they stole and i'll have to take legal action. Don't waste your time at this shop, go somewhere else.
As a female its hard to find trustworthy mechanics (unfortunately), but these guys are really solid. They aren't going to charge you for stuff you don't need, and will explain what you do need if you ask questions... highly recommend! Thanks guys!
at first it was a few problems they said they could fix them in a week or less some how that turns into 4 months with mark telling me it will be done in a week every week of the way finally I told him I felt he was giving me the run around and he said come pick up your car the next day with still nothing done I paid 500+ just to get my defrost working but my defrost still doesn't crazy thing is I was hoping to fix all 5 minor problems nothing motor or trans wrong and he told me he had a hummer so don't worry 3 months later he tells me he can only fix one problem witch was the defrost tells me its ready I go pay I start my car to leave and nothing is Blowing air not my defrost or vents when I showed up at least my vents worked so I let him know he makes me wait hour while they take dash apart I ask if they can just call me when it's done he says one week max for another 4 weeks finally when I call upset next day he says come pick up your car no charge wish he would of told me this 4months ago i would of left it at a real shop I had a new born and really needed my car with mark showing no care in the world only what he says is right and sees nothing wrong in this
You know when your baby's not feeling well & you don't want to drop it off at a dealership to be ignored and neglected for days while you wait for them to get back with you on a diagnosis? Where can you turn? Well this happened to me... One of those pesky service lights came on and my dealership is telling me I have to drop it off for a couple of days & they can't tell me what's going on until they do all their magic behind the scenes that I'm not privy too apparently Of course that not only makes me rethink the dealership I'm dealing with but of course it turned me to Yelp in search of a Zoomcare for my Jeep. I knew I would probably have to take it to a dealership to get repaired but I just really wanted to know what was going on and how urgent was this matter and I wanted to know today! I am so grateful for the peace of mind that Pro-Tech Automotive gave me! Less than an hour & I was out and I could go on with my life & plan this repair at a later date and I was only out a few bucks and to me it was worth the certainty that my impatient body needed! Mark was so helpful & took the time to explain things & gave me the calm I was seeking. If I ever have something I need immediate help to calm any insecurities and fear I have with regard to my baby I will definitely be coming back here to Mark! And if my new buddy Dawn is there, all the better! She made the time fly & was the kindest, funniest person with a smile that melted away my anxiety...what a team they made! You know if I'm throwing a 5 at them it was a pretty amazing experience! Thank you guys for the amazing triage job you did on my baby, we will never forget you!!
I received a gift certificate for a ceramic coating for my car for my birthday. When I attempted to schedule the service things were sketchy from the start. I was told that I was speaking with the new manager Eric and given a lot of detail about the past poor management and what I wouldn't be getting for my gift certificate which was the first red flag. I tried to schedule for Saturday as that was what was intended when the gift was given to me so I wouldn't have to take time off of work for the service. I was told that they are no longer open on Saturday's even though the website said they are. Given how bizarre the experience in making the appointment was I was concerned there might be a problem with the business. So I called the day before my appointment to confirm that I would be receiving the service at the scheduled time. The person who answered laughed and said it should be okay. I explained that didn't make me feel confident, I was taking time off of work, driving an hour out of the way and that was why I wanted to be certain the service would take place (should I even have to explain that?) and he said he checked the schedule and I should be fine. Two hours later I got a call from someone else saying they didn't know anything about it. I explained everything again and then was guaranteed I was in the schedule. I reiterated again my concerns about them being certain and they promised I'd be taken care of. Today I showed up for my service and was told they only have one guy that performs the service and he's super unreliable and called in sick at 8:30am. No one called me they just let me take time off of work and drive and hour out of my way! Joe went on to explain their staff is unreliable, they've had staffing issues and no one had a number to call me even though someone had called me the day before and I gave them my number 3 times. This was not merely a situation of bad customer service but super bizarre as well. The most consistent communication by the parties is that they are having problems with management and staffing and they don't see it getting fixed any time soon. Best not to waste your time and go some place more reliable. At least some place that has the decency to let you know they are canceling your appointment before you show up. The person who purchased me the gift was going to bring their car in as well and now we all know this place is super sketchy!!!!
Pro Tech couldn't fix a simple AC issue for the longest time for me. I have taken my car back 3 separate times to fix an AC leak that they told me just needed to be refilled (obviously not the issue), then it was clogged (that was clearly a lie), then it had a leaky schraeder valve (which should've been fixed the first time). Then it stopped working a 4th time so I finally decided to go somewhere else where they found a leak in the hose among other issues that pro tech missed. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time here. Also the front desk can be slightly rude. I also had a catalytic converter replaced from here and it had to be replaced a few days later because it was a faulty part. They seem to not be able to do the simple things correctly the first time. The place I just took it to to get fixed found a leak in the ac line after injecting tracer dye into the system (pro tech should've done this the first time but didn't). They also found a leak in my coolant lines which pro tech would've found if they did the job correctly in the first place. Do not waste your time here. I've wasted days waiting for them to be done with my vehicle after driving 50+ minutes only to have to come back a few weeks later for the exact same issues.
Came in to Pro Tech after getting the go around with other car Pleaces trying to find a reasonable Price for a simple fix that was causing my engine light to be on. I came in and Freddy introduced him self right away( super friendly and helpful!) I told him what was going on and he helped me right away with a good price and great service! I was in and out of there in no more than an hour. Customer service and work was Amazing. Definitely will be coming here for more service in the future :)
I can't recommend this shop for your ceramic coating needs. When I dropped off my brand new truck for ceramic coating, I specifically asked them to be careful about the black trim pieces...having had issues with past vehicles at other providers, I wanted to make certain this would not happen to my brand new truck. When I picked it up all was pretty much ok, and looked good...although I did have to have them fix a couple things, including some of the black trim pieces that they clearly hit with the buffer and/or got chemical on. After the first wash however, you can see what I'm now left with. Whited out trim all over my new truck that is impossible to fix. Total bummer. Paid them almost $1000 and got ruined trim as a result. I would not return unfortunately. Nice enough people, but just can't recommend them to others.
I took my 2005 F150 in for a long block replacement. I blame myself for some of my troubles. I broke the cardinal rules. ALWAYS specify in writing on the work order EXACTLY what you want done. ALWAYS write down on the work order to call and get authorization before preforming any work not mentioned on work order . ALWAYS have a written estimate on work order. ALWAYS date and sign work order . ALWAYS walk away with copy of work order before work begins . I asked for new motor mounts , new u-joints ,new hoses and belts , coolant and vacuum ( anything rubber) . I asked for opinion about replacing coils And injectors . ( never got one) . That should have been a clue. I asked if they would call me if they saw or felt I should replace anything else that looked as if it were worn out or would be wise to replace. Truck has almost 200,000 on it . Well taken care of . Wanted to replace it but prices didn't justify buy someone else's used problems or paying 50,000 or more for new. They replaced my exhaust headers without letting me know . At a cost of 350.00 when resurfacing would have cost 100.00 . They replaced a coil spring boot without letting me know . They didn't replace motor mounts . Never contacted me on anything until they were finished. Didn't replace any vacuum hoses . They did coolant hoses but just the upper and lower radiator . That was it for hoses and belts. They replaced my harmonic balancer also ?? Truck developed problems after first 500 miles. Code reader indicated misfire on cylinder 6. I purchased new coils and injectors took it back and had them installed after telling them why. Truck still had same problem . Took it back . They found leaking intake manifold. Manifold is plastic I found out at that time. Why didn't they replace that at engine exchange ? Or suggest that ? Or look for that at time of coil and injector replacement ? A little disappointed in mechanic . A LOT disappointed in management . Cross your t's and dot you i"s . Do your leg work . Don't trust all reviews. These are new owners . All the good reviews are from previous owners . I later found out . Bad me.
I asked how much a part and a repair would be. . . He wanted me to set a appointment, face to face. . .instead of just giving me a price ! Very bad feeling about this guy ! I do not trust Him right off the bat ! Like another review said. . .I can read Bullshit a mile away !
Last week I paid this shop almost 800 dollars to put in a new catalytic converter to fix my car, and to diagnose any problems with it because my check engine light was on. They were uncommunicative during that process and I wouldn't go back to them for that, and didn't want to hinder their business by writing a poor review just for that, but right now I am sitting in my car waiting for a tow because my engine just shut off while I was driving. I paid almost a thousand dollars and whatever problem I have is still present.
Asked for a simple quote for a timing belt and water pump. I normally would do it myself. But. I am too busy with work as a Master ASE mechanic of 20 years. I asked why they needed to see my vehicle for a quote. They were extremely rude and as you can see insulted me. Stay away from this shop. Any decent shop can give you a quote over the phone. When you get the work done. You sign a estimate stating anything else found could be more money etc. I used to run a side shop on Nextdoor for fun on my days off. I always have a quote over the phone for maintenance items. Anything else. The customer had to see me. I took it to Acura of Beaverton. They gave me a quote over the phone and I had it done the next day. Price did not increase and they found no problems. See my 4 star review I left for them...
What can I say? These guys are "top-notch" in my book. I looked them up online and started reading reviews. What sold me was the fact that they took the time to respond to each and every one of those reviews. I was quote a fair price and told how long it would take. I showed up first thing Saturday morning and the mechanic, Dan, was the nicest guy to talk with and made me feel welcome. The work was done 10 minutes faster than quoted and no hidden surprises. The guys are worth the time! These guys are professional and do great work. They also have detail shop! Great job you guys! And the car runs great!!! Rick
I've been taking my car here for the last year and now that Freddy is not there it is totally different and I will not be going back! Single mom just laid off and he totally took advantage and tried to rip me off. I was overcharged for labor, my window is still broken, he tried to tell me I couldn't use the labor part of my coupon book I purchased and I had to show him they used it for me last time to fix my lock and he pretended like he wasn't the owner and had to get approval to use it. He is lying and taking advantage to make a buck! I wouldn't waste your money there now. Sad because I used to like this place. You can't rip people off and be shady and keep our business. All my friends and family won't be going here either!!
I am highly disappointed with my experience, I called yesterday knowing that my sunroof drains were the issue with my leak only to spend $80 on a diagnostic appointment today where I was told they could do nothing and was referred to a body shop. Upon calling a body shop I discovered for free that they also cannot fix my problem but they led me in the right direction and it didn't cost me $80.
I live in Vancouver and drove here mainly because of the positive reviews. I have a 2010 Lincoln Town Car Executive L keep in mind I use to work in sales so I can read bullshit from a mile away just because I'm quiet doesn't mean I don't read people well or know the game. I learned less is more and you can learn by listening and watching. I got a quote from courtesy Ford of $270 to get the job done with factory parts on the bank 1 sensor 1 also on repair pal it's listed as being a job that estimates at $170.00 for sensor replacement. This place charged me an insulting $265.00 and tried to make it look like a deal MF who the hell do you think you trying to school. I should slap the front counter guy for insulting my intelligence. I came here all the way from Vancouver and was told I needed a whole new Catalytic Converter on bank 2 sensor 2 and the bank 1 sensor 1 almost a grand worth of work with the cost was $265.00 and there parts supplier is not factory. so $170.00 repair turns into almost a grand even the dealership charges 270.00 for a full diagnosis parts and labor for a repair on a P0135 bank 1 sensor 1. You know the feeling in your gut that's say run like hell the guy is trying to sale the sales men all lights were flashing and horns blowing saying walk the hell out of their. I am getting that gut feeling I'm gonna regret this but I went for it anyways and did only the bank 1 sensor 1 because I had ran the codes earlier this month and Bank 2 was not a code that went off a week ago and isn't one going off now. Sure enough I started this review as I was sitting inside the waiting area and now home check engine light on again but not for the P0430 but for the same thing PO135 Bank 1 sensor 1. Thank you autozone for giving me honest information My entire day wasted and I work the rest of the week. So now I have to go to work tomorrow in no car while they fix the problem. All in all I was over charged. They advertise free diagnostic on walk in they charged me for the Diagnosis not free as advertised on Yelp. and some might suggest that the new catalytic converters was really a way to get more money added to the invoice cost. So all in all I would not recommend this shop something shady about the way they deal business doesn't sit well with me they over charged me over $100.00 for a part that cost less then $65.00 at autozone. If they can't fix it tomorrow I'm demanding a full refund and I'm taking my business else where. Which will probably be Ford because I don't pay money for anything less then results.
Excellent value, quality and quick service. Best price in town. Worth the drive from beaverton.
Great service. Fast. Great communication. I took a vehicle in for pre-road trip tune-up. They worked quickly and were friendly. 100miles into a trip the vehicle's service light went on. I called and they were super helpful walking through a diagnostic. Turned out to be a service warning triggered by their work - no harm. I'll be going back again
So I like this place, same day appointment for oil change, tire rotation & alignment. I am really really pleased with that. I have a pretty hectic work schedule and they came recommended by CarMax. Which is where I bought my 2016 Ford Edge from. I like Freddy and the guys there all get along and are hard workers. That's important to me. Happy people do good work. I'm happy with the service I got and they took the time to chat with me and talk about maintenance on my car. 5 stars.
My daughter had an older Mercedes-Benz that needed a lot of work. The staff at Pro-Tech were always wonderful and fair priced. Freddie especially went out of the way to help.
I brought my car in for an oil change and coolant flush last week and was very happy with their service. I was able to get an appointment ASAP, their work was very quick, and they are cheaper than a drive though oil change place. Also, they suggested I wait on the coolant flush because I wasn't quite due yet. Most other places would have just taken my money. It's great to be able to save money and support a local business at the same time. I am definitely bringing my car back to Pro Tech autoworks for anything my car might need in the future.
TLDR: After 3 weeks of trying to diagnose my 1998 astro van, the mechanics here ended up missing that it had a blown head gasket and now my van is totaled. I came here due to a recommendation from a close friend of mine and living in Portland this is a decent drive. My first visit they were kind and wonderful and took care of a check engine light that came on. A couple weeks later, I noticed after starting my van that it made a noise I can only describe as "sputtering" or "revving" and this sound was mostly audible while idling. I brought my vehicle in to their shop to FIND THE PROBLEM. After several hours, I was told that they couldnt get their computer to "throw an error code" and that whatever the problem is it would be fixed by a full tune up. This sounded off to me but I needed my van fixed. Just then one of their mechanics told me they got it to throw an error code and they found that it was misfiring. Great I said. So they went to work trying to fix it after charging me ~$700. The next day it was done and I came to pick up my van. After driving it home I found that the problem was "minimized" but it still made the same noise and sounded very off. I called them back later that week after confirming that my vehicle was still acting up. In hindsight I should not have paid until I knew the problem was fixed. They told me they would make it right and as I work as a teacher in Portland it was very inconvenient for me to drive out to Milwaukie. Lucky for me they offered to come pick up my van from my work. They were supposed to have it back to me at the end of the day. Turns out they needed more time so I had to find a way home from work and to work the next day. The next day they said theyd have my van back to me by noon. By 6pm when I was off work, I finally was able to reach them and asked where my van was. The owner of the company told me it was already dropped off at my work and that I wasnt there. He also made sure to add in that this was a major "convenience and that we dont usually do this". I still didnt have my van. I asked the owner what address they dropped my van off at and the owner told me he would try to get in touch with the guy who drove it. An hour later I receive the address and found out that they dropped my van in some random neighborhood in SE Milwaukie, left the door unlocked, and hid my keys under the driver seat. I NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL? At this point I am furious and one of my coworkers kindly drove me over there to find my van. Luckily it was safe and while driving it home it seems that whatever work they did to it didnt matter because the problem persisted. At this point, I felt a loss and like I got scammed or that these guys dont know their way around a vehicle. Finally over the weekend I call their boss and express my grievances and request a refund. They told me that they cannot offer a refund but that they fired the employee who ditched my car in a random neighborhood and that if I bring it back in they will make it right. Not having any other options, I agreed to bring it back in for a third time, STUPIDLY. They had it for three days before I finally got it back and it still had the same problem. At this point I was contacting my bank to see if I could freeze the payment but unless I paid another mechanic to disassemble my van and prove they didnt do the work I was charged for, I wouldnt be able to. My receipt says "custom work" which means they couldve literally done anything to my van. About a week later of trying to contact other mechanics for advice, my van kicked the bucket. I finally brought my van to the mechanics at Portland Automotive and they told me without a doubt that my van has a blown head gasket. When I described the initial problem to them they told me that is what it sounds like the problem was from the beginning which means that these crooked business men at PROTECH AUTOWORKS werent able to identify that my van had a blown head gasket and now I have no vehicle. Theres a reason I brought my vehicle to a mechanic. To fix a problem that I cant fix myself. Now with the world all crazy due to Covid19, I have time to update this review to warn other people that the new management at this mechanics shop is a crook.
I finally decided to get my AC fixed after it not working for 2 summers. I called in on a Thursday and they were able to schedule me for the next day on Friday. I didn't now what to expect as far as pricing but when they called and let me know it cost far less than expected. I wanted to wait on writing a review just in case the AC stopped working but after about a month it works perfectly! The staff was great at communicating with me and if I ever need repairs again they are the first on my list.
Awesome service. In and out on a Saturday afternoon in 30 min for an oil change. Honored the oil change packages I bought earlier this week
Love these guys! Owner Joseph and Freddy the manger are on top of things and seem truly helpful to all their customers. They were fast and efficient with my cars issues. Also their technician Tommy was excellent! Go see these guys!
My vehicle wouldn't start and had to be towed in. They were super helpful and helped me find a tow company. Freddie was super awesome and went above and beyond. Daniel was also super friendly every time I had a question.
The people at Pro Tech worked on my son's engine and did a great job. I would highly recommend them.
Excellent Auto Shop! I dropped my car off, had it repaired the same day and was back on the road a few hours later! What I thought was a transmission issue turned out to be something else altogether. The staff at Pro Tech got it figured out immediately and my teenage daughter is back on the road in a reliable vehicle. Finian even text me the next day to check in and make sure all was well. This is a great neighborhood repair shop. We will be back!
By far the best auto mechanics to work with. I brought my Lexus IS350 to get a complete brake job (Pads, Rotors, Labor) and they beat everyone's price significantly. They even picked me up from Starbucks while I was waiting for them to get the job done. After they picked me up and tested out the brakes with me in the car, they even helped me diagnose my check engine light and let me know what it meant. Excellent customer service, friendly guys, strong work ethic, no doubt one of the best shops I've been to. Thanks again guys.
Finian and the guys at pro tech are great. There was an issue I had with my turn signals not working, multiple shops could not figure out the problem and pretty much left me hanging. Turns out that it would have been super expensive to fix, but Finian and the guys figured out how to rewire everything so that my signals would work. I will definitely be taking my car back here for any repairs. Thanks guys!
They had my car for two weeks to do a diag when I pick up my car the battery was dead they said I have a bad alt but they left the light on inside my car on for a week that's why the battery is dead they charged me to fix a wire that I already cleaned up ready to connect. I would not let this shop dig a hole for a dead dog
After having my brakes repaired they stilll squeak the pedal goes all the way to the floor I had to go in for a second opinion and my brakes needed bled One of the owners physically grabbed onto me so I couldn't go on a test drive with the technician who worked on my vehicle and they have fired that technician and I received an email saying that I should take my vehicle somewhere for safety inspection they also overcharged me for a previous repair had I not taken my vehicle to get a second opinion on the brakes I never would have known they over charged me over $100
My partner and I had a semi-emergency situation with her car and I am VERY grateful that our lucky stars were with us when we pulled into Pro-Tech Auto. Their shop was closing down for the day, but one of their employees was generous enough to help us out. He didn't treat us like a burden, was professional and careful with his inspection of the problem. Ultimately, he temporarily fixed our brake light switch issue. That was more than enough for us to return to Pro-Tech the next day for a permanent fix to our issues. The next day we were met with another employee who displayed the same thoughtful and professional approach to our situation. We needed a new hood latch and cable- he was honest about those parts being pricey and offered to install hood pins as an alternative to accommodate our small budget. Not many places would do this! His actual work was flawless and the labor cost was extremely reasonable. Other aspects: The waiting room was comfy, even during the heat wave. They have an easily accessible bathroom, leather couches and cold water while you wait. This business is 5 star, without a doubt. We are returning for a third time later this week for an oil change, the drive is worth it. Thanks, Pro-Tech!
